❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I test for dead pixels on my monitor?

Use the Dead Pixel Test mode and click "Launch Fullscreen Test". It cycles through solid red, green, blue, white, and black. Dead pixels appear as dots that don't change color. Stuck pixels may glow red, green, or blue on the wrong background.

How do I check for backlight bleed?

Select Backlight Bleed test and launch fullscreen. The screen goes pure black. In a dark room, look at the edges and corners — any visible glow is backlight bleed. This is most common on IPS and edge-lit LCD panels.

What is the Response Time test?

The Response Time Test shows a fast-moving white ball on a black background. If you see a ghost trail behind it, your monitor has slow pixel response. Gaming monitors (1–5ms) show almost no trail. Basic office monitors (8–12ms) may show noticeable ghosting.

How do I test my webcam resolution?

Select the Resolution Test mode and start your camera. The tool displays actual output dimensions (width × height) and labels it as 4K, 1080p, 720p, etc. Use the snapshot feature to save a full-resolution image to compare quality.

What FPS should my webcam run at?

30 FPS is the standard for webcams. 60 FPS is ideal for streaming and gaming content. Below 15 FPS will look choppy. Use the FPS Test mode to measure your camera's actual real-world frame rate over time.

How do I test my camera microphone?

Select Microphone Test mode. The tool requests mic permission separately and shows a live audio level bar, peak dB, average dB, and noise floor measurement. Great for checking audio before Zoom calls, YouTube recordings, or podcasts.

What is the Gradient Test for?

The Gradient Test shows a smooth transition from black to white and across colors. If you see distinct "steps" or "banding" instead of smooth transitions, your monitor may have limited color depth (6-bit dithering instead of true 8-bit). High-quality monitors will show perfectly smooth gradients.

Does this tool save or upload my camera feed?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your camera feed is never uploaded, stored, or transmitted to any server. All analysis happens locally on your device using browser APIs. You can verify by checking your browser's Network tab — no video data is sent anywhere.
